Check DirectionThe panels must face somewhere between East and West, ideally via South. Other directions are NOT suitable. See Below
Check SizeYou must have at least 8 square metres of space to locate the panels. This is roughly the same size as two family cars. See Below
Check ShadingSolar PV Panels must not be shaded by buildings, trees, chimneys etc. or they will be much less efficient. See Below
EnergyLinks Solar Installers can also fit Solar Panels onto East and West facing roofs. In these circumstances, the panels are often installed on both faces for maximum benefit and without significant reduction in the amount of electricity generated.
Other directions including North West, North and North East are not suitable for Solar Panels.
