Solar PV Feed-in Tariff cuts delayed until 1st August 2012

Greg Barker, The Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change, has today confirmed that Solar PV Feed-in Tariff (FIT) cuts, initially scheduled for 1st July 2012, have been delayed until 1st August 2012.

The cuts will see the FIT rate drop to 16p per kWh from the current rate of 21p per kWh, for installations under 4kWp. Other notable changes to take effect from 1st August 2012 include: reducing the length of time that businesses and households receive FIT payments from 25 years to 20 and increasing the export tariff to from 3.2p to 4.5p per kWh.
