Boiler & Heating Grants
If you have a Central Heating system, your Boiler can account for up to 60% of what you spend per year on energy bills. Replacing an efficient Boiler will make a big difference and could save you up to £300 per year.
If the property does not have Central Heating, e.g. you have fires or other heaters, you could save even more than £300 per year.
Grants are available to cover some or all of the cost of replacing an inefficient boiler. They can also cover the cost of installing a full Central Heating system if you have a mains gas supply in the property.
The grant scheme is part of the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO). The UK's largest energy suppliers have an obligation to pay for Boilers and full Central Heating systems if the occupants are likely to be living in fuel poverty.
To receive a grant, you must be in receipt of one of the following benefits:
* Additional components required. Please see our who qualifies page for full details.
If you have a boiler, it must have been installed more than 5 years ago. If the property does not have Central Heating, most existing heating systems will qualify to be replaced, with the exception of warm air and electric storage heaters.
- Income-related benefit required.
- Boiler must be over 5 years old.
- Some other systems can qualify.
- Free or contribution required.
- Save up to £300 per year on bills.
How can EnergyLink help?
Once you have completed our online form, an Energy Advisor will telephone you to check whether you qualify for a grant. They will then pass your details to one of our approved local installers who will call you to arrange a free survey.
The surveyor will double-check your grant entitlement and your existing boiler/heating system. A second technical survey may also be required. Providing you qualify, the installer will arrange for a date to carry out the work.
If a contribution is required, you will have to pay this on the day the work is completed. The installer will then claim the grant from an energy supplier at a later date.
